From the novel by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River), Shutter Island is a story about Teddy Daniels, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, is a World War II veteran and currently a federal marshal who is partnered with Chuck (played by Mark Ruffalo). In the opening of the movie Teddy and Chuck is ferrying into Shutter Island to investigate about a missing patient in a mental hospital that holds the criminally insane. As the investigation progress, Teddy suspects that the missing person was killed in the process of a secrete experimental operation to cure the patients condition. But the truth revealed when he went to an isolated lighthouse where he suspects the experiments happens.
